SAT Subject Tests:
SAT Subject Tests are 1 hour, subject specific tests. Approximately 15% of four-year colleges and universities in the United States require SAT Subject Tests in addition to the regular SAT or ACT. These are usually the more highly selective colleges. For colleges that require Subject Tests, usually 2 or 3 are required. Some colleges may require specific Subject Tests, and some majors may require specific Subject Tests. Subject Tests are usually taken at or near the end of the specific course (usually May or June). Up to 3 Subject Tests can be taken on one test date.
Moorestown High School Subject Supervisors have made recommendations regarding the completion of courses that will best prepare students for specific Subject Tests. The MHS Subject Test Guidelines page is helpful when planning times to take Subject Tests.
Accommodations for SAT/PSAT:
Any student who requires special accommodations for SAT, PSAT, and AP tests must file an SSD Student Eligibility Form with the College Board. Any student who has not already done so must pick a form up from your Guidance Counselor. For October PSAT testing, eligibility forms must be determined complete by August 27, 2019. Be sure to submit the form by the appropriate date for the test you wish to take.
The College Board recommends that for the PSAT/NMSQT you submit your completed eligibility form by June 15th in order to guarantee that you receive the appropriate practice materials. For all other College Board test dates, use the Regular Registration Postmark Deadline as the deadline for the accommodation form. Forms are available in the Guidance Office.
