2017 - 2018

NJ Governor’s School 2018 - Deadline December 13, 2017:
The selection process for the prestigious Governor's School of New Jersey is about to begin.  This program seeks high-achieving juniors interested in rigorous STEM summer academic programs.  There will be two programs operating in 2018.  The Governor's School in the Sciences will be hosted at Drew University from July 8-July 28, 2018, and the Governor's School of Engineering & Technology will be hosted by Rutgers University from July 1 - July 27, 2018.  All interested parties must be willing to meet the necessary time commitment of either program.  In filling out this form you are only completing the preliminary stage of what is an intensive, multi-step selection process.  Moorestown is only permitted to nominate two applicants for each Governor's School program.  The deadline for submitting your application of interest via the Google form is 12/13/2017.  MHS Governor's School Google Form.  Please see www.nj.gov/govschool/ for more details.

Wilson Harrison Foundation Presents Bethune's Polished & Poised Program:

2018 New Jersey Scholars Program:

The New Jersey Scholars Program (NJSP) is a tuition-free, five-week summer program for students who are residents of New Jersey, United States citizens and rising seniors at the high school level in New Jersey.  Moorestown High School is permitted to submit up to two applications to be determined by the school’s internal process.  This is the first stage of the MHS selection process.  Two candidates will be forwarded to NJSP for selection as semifinalists.  If selected by NJSP as a semifinalist, applicants are invited to participate in a group interview with NJSP.  The Program selects thirty-nine Scholars from among the semifinalists.  Applicants must be able to commit to attend the program from June 24 to July 27, 2018.  Please go to the NJSP website for additional information about this year's topic, "Mind and Body: The Future of Being Human".  You must complete the NJSP Google form to apply.  This form is due by Friday, December 1, 2017.

Lockheed Martin Engineering Seminars - 2017-2018:
If you are interested in the fields of engineering, Lockheed Martin (LMCO) is conducting 5 seminars dealing with five different areas of engineering.  These seminars will be held in the VTC Conference Room - First Floor of Building 770 on Centerton Road, Mt. Laurel.  If you are interested in attending complete a permission form and submit to your Science Teacher.  You can attend all and/or selected sessions.  Permission Form – MHS Permission Slip.
Lockheed Martin Seminars: 
* System Engineering – The design of a total system of many hardware and software components (previous sessions involved the use of teamwork to create a dog park). (November 15, 3:30 to 5:30 PM)
* Modeling Design  DIY techniques for airplane modeling and design with hands on foam glider build.  (December  19, 3:30 to 5:30 PM)
* Software Engineering – What is involved in the design and implementation of software? (January 16, 3:30 to 5:30 PM) 
* TBD - Game Design OR Web Design – Develop a robot battle tank to battle against other tanks. Build the best, destroy the rest!  Or build a simple yet fully functional web application from scratch   (February 13, 3:30 to 5:30 PM)

W.E.B. DuBois Scholars Institute Offers Accelerated Learning Academy (ALA):
The W.E.B. The W.E.B. Congressional Leadership Fund is Looking for Fall Interns:

The Congressional Leadership Fund is the leading Super PAC supporting Republican candidates for the U.S. House, spending $50 million during the 2016 cycle.  This is a fantastic opportunity for those interested in building a resume and learning more about campaigns and politics.  Flexible hours and able to work with busy schedules.  Interns may earn college credit with this internship.  Interns will be exposed to: 1) campaign strategy, 2) voter targeting and contact methods, 3) grassroots organizing and networking, and 4) discussion of current political issues.  If interested, contact Taylor Danos at Tdanos@theclf.org.

Hugh O'Brien Youth Leadership (HOBY):

Winter 2018 Immersion Science Program:

Drexel University Camp Business:
Camp Business, sponsored by Drexel University’s LeBow College of Business, is an enriching summer program designed to give rising high school juniors and seniors an intensive introduction to both collegiate and corporate business education — and it shows them that business can be both fun and exciting!  An Innovative Agenda -- Students work closely with outstanding LeBow faculty and instructors from the corporate world. Students will examine the disciplines of accounting, marketing, finance and management, and learn the core concepts of business including leadership, professional image, etiquette, team building, and strategy.
