On May 22nd and May 23rd the state mandated New Jersey Student Learning Assessment s for Science (NJSLA-S) will be administered to juniors. The NJSLA-S assessment is a computer-based assessment, and will be administered much like PARCC in their Homerooms. Testing will take approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes each day. All Juniors need to bring their fully charged and updated laptops with them for testing. All Freshman, Sophomores, and Seniors will have a delayed start to school with Homeroom beginning at 10:20am. Both days will be letter E days. The Bell Schedule is posted on the MHS homepage.
Regarding transportation, a normal bus run will take place for those who are testing with a second bus run delayed by 2.5 hours for those who will not test. For those not testing, student drop off wil take place at the MAC only with report time beginning at 10:00am.
Students whos IEPs or 504 plans authorize them to have extra time and/or other accommodations on standardized test will automatically be assigned to rooms where these can be provided. Please encourage your student to put his/her best effort forward on this important state-mandated test.
